‘lips red as a rose, hair black as ebony and skin white as snow’
I thought it was about time that I did a Snow White FOTD as part of this series, she is the original disney princess! Snow White was the first animated disney film to come out and it was first shown in 1937, that’s 76 years ago which is crazy!!
Anywho, I had quite a dramatic change to my hair last Sunday, as you guys probably already know and I went from long brown hair to a short purpley black bob. So, what better time to do a Snow White FOTD, seeing as I now have pretty similar hair to her?
Out of all the disney princesses, I actually think Snow White’s look is the easiest to re-create and actually the most wearable. I kept true to the well-known description of her and went for a true red lip, red cheeks and a subtle flick of eyeliner.
For my eyes I firstly primed with the Benefit stay don’t stray and then just applied my NYX jumbo eye pencil in Yogurt over the top. I then applied my Maybelline gel eyeliner in black to the outer two thirds of my lashline to make my lashes appear more dense towards the outer side of my eyes. Along my waterline, I applied Rimmel’s nude kohl to the inner two thirds and then applied my GOSH smoky kohl liner* in black to the outer third. I then finished off with two coats of Revlon’s lash potion mascara (first impressions video for that to come today!).
I used barely anything on my face as I wanted to keep my face looking quite natural. I firstly applied Bourjois healthy mix serum and then used Soap and Glory’s kick ass concealer on my blemishes and under my eyes. I used my NYX cream blush in Diva (which is a super pigmented dark red) on my cheeks to make them look rosy red, as Snow White’s are always shown to be. I finally set my makeup with Rimmel’s stay matte powder, but I didn’t use it on my cheeks, as I didn’t want to tone down the red colour on my cheeks.
Finally, for my lips I lined them with my GOSH lip liner* in Cardinal Red and then applied the One Direction Kiss You lipstick in Be Mine on my lips.
So there you have it, this is my version of Snow White’s makeup! I hope you guys have enjoyed reading this one and don’t forget to comment or tweet me suggestions of what I should do next time!
