Danniella’s favourite Rimmel reds!

So I’ve got a little guest post for you guys today!  Danniella, one of my favourite blogger friends, asked if anybody wanted a guest post from her and, as we’ve never featured on each others blogs before, I just had to get her to do one!  She’s decided to share her favourite red lip products from one of my favourite brands, Rimmel, which are just perfect for a bold New Years Eve makeup look!  So, without further ado, here’s Danniella’s favourite Rimmel reds:

Hello all! How are we doing?  I’m Danniella and I’m from Famous in Japan.  I’ve been promising Albertine a guest post since practically the dawn of time and I have finally got round to it!  Can I get a whoop whoop? *silence* tumbleweed* *more silence*
Moving on…

Today I am talking about my favourite red lip products from Rimmel London.  Albertine and I share a mutual love of bright lip products and when deliberating over what I could write for her, well it was only natural that I write about it.  Of course, I’m not as brave as Albertine and I can’t pull off bright pinks or vampire colours.  Red, however, is my colour.

First, it’s of course the Kate Moss for Rimmel in 111 Kiss of Life.  A creamy, almost red that entered my life simply because I wanted to buy another red lipstick.  I’m the consumerist’s dream, me!  It is really comfortable on the lips and doesn’t cling to any dry patches unlike some other matte lipsticks.  I think this retails for just under £5 so next time you need a treat, go nab one of these!

Next up, it’s a product I’m not quite sure people are aware of – it’s the Rimmel Colour Rush Balm in Redder the Better.  Another lip crayon, I hear you complain.  Ahh, but this is definitely one of the best on the market today.  It’s balm-y and feels nice on the lips, but packs such an intense punch of colour that lasts all day.  Like all balm crayons the balm eventually wears off after about an hour and you are left with a stain.  I am surprised that barely anyone seems to tried these, so hopefully this post alerts a few people to their existence.

Last but not least, it’s the marmite of the blogosphere – the Rimmel Apocalips in Big Bang.  Ever so hyped up pre-release, but when everyone went out and bought the entire range, they soon changed their mind.  I, on the other hand, absolutely adore them, especially in this shade.  Upon first application, it’s glossy and vibrant.  Over the course of the day the gloss disappears and you are left with a subtle stain.   My favourite time of wearing the Apocalips is when it’s midway between gloss and stain as it feels really light on my lips but it still makes me look “done up”.  They can be a little messy when applying, but it’s nothing a little lip liner can’t sort.

I hope you enjoyed this post and perhaps added one or two of these to your mental shopping list!  A big thank you to Albertine for letting me pop over for today and I hope she enjoyed putting her feet up.
