L’Oreal Infallible foundation review

L’Oreal Infallible foundation, £9.99
here’s what the foundation looks like on its own
And here’s what it looks like with a full face of makeup on!
So it seems the L’Oreal infallible foundation has had a little bit of a re-vamp recently.  I never tried the original formulation of this, so I can’t really compare it to what it was previously like, but I can give you a mini review including my first impressions of it!
As it’s currently 3 for 2 on in Boots, I decided to treat myself to a few new bits and as soon as I saw this on the L’Oreal stand, I knew I had to try it!  The foundation claims to be high coverage, last 24hrs, hide the appearance of fatigue and blemishes and be transfer-proof, those are some pretty bold claims to be making about a foundation!
I went for the shade sand which, after swatching on my face in natural light, is quite obviously too dark for me!  Luckily it’s not too noticeable so I can still wear it and once summer FINALLY comes round it’ll be a perfect match!  Anyway, there are only 8 shades in the range, and they all lean more towards the pink-toned side of the spectrum.  Therefore, if you’re more yellow-toned like I am, you’re going to struggle to find a match to these!  There also aren’t any extremely pale or dark colours, which is a shame.
I do really like the consistency of this foundation, it feels really light on the skin, and once buffed in almost feels like you don’t have any makeup on.  Although they claim it is high coverage, I have to say I would disagree on that, it’s more of a medium coverage.  As you can see in the photo above (second one down) the dark circles under my eyes and my acne scarring on my chin are still fairly visible.  Therefore I would say that it’s also not as good as it claims at hiding fatigue and blemishes.
I’ve worn this for the past couple of days now and I have to say the lasting power really is good!  Obviously, I’ve only worn it for around 8-10 hours, so have no idea if it lives up to its claims of lasting 24 hours (who even wears their foundation for that long?!), but it did stay pretty much put for the whole day.

Overall, I am really loving using this foundation, it’s easy to blend into the skin, gives a good medium coverage and lasts all day with minimal signs of wearing off.  Although the shade is slightly too dark for me, I am really looking forward to using this during the summer months when I have more of a tan!
