Make Up For Ever SS15

There’s nothing I love more than the new makeup trends that come with the changing seasons! A few weeks ago I was invited to the Debenhams SS15 preview to look at all the new beauty products coming into their stores soon and I have to say it was a bit like walking into Aladdin’s cave for a beauty addict like me, I didn’t quite know where to look! I managed to grab a chat with one of the lovely girls at the Make Up For Ever counter they had set up and it was really exciting to hear they will be launching in Debenhams this May so we’ll be able to get our hands on their amazing products very soon…

At the event I was gifted a couple of their new products, and I’m not going to lie, there was a little squeal of excitement when I opened them up because they’re seriously some of the most gorgeous makeup I’ve ever owned. So hot off the press I have their new Pro Bronze Fusion* and Plexi-Gloss lipgloss* to share with you guys ahead of their launch this summer.

Pro Bronze Fusion-approx. £24, launching soon
First up is the Pro Bronze Fusion*, which is a bronzer unlike any other that I’ve tried! The formula (as well as the pretty pattern) is what really makes this unique, as the bouncygel technology makes it smooth and creamy to the touch, giving you the perfect payoff of colour across your cheeks which won’t look powdery. While the bouncygel technology bit does baffle me, I have to say I am really enjoying using this compared to my usual powdered bronzers. I was given the shade 20M which came with the 136 kabuki brush* which has been specially created for use with this bronzer.
The kabuki is incredibly dense, with a flat top, making it perfect for picking up just the right amount of product and buffing it into your skin for an amazingly natural looking glow. I’ve used this bronzer a few times now, and I have to say I am really impressed! I am naturally heavy handed, so my bronzer normally ends up as a dark, orangey mess. Using this the finish is always natural, to the point where you really can’t tell I’m wearing makeup and the glow it gives to my skin just looks really natural.
I have it on in the above photo and as you can see it just adds a bit of warmth to my cheeks and blends perfectly with my skintone. As the weather’s been getting nicer recently, this has been perfect for sweeping across my face for a natural bronzed glow.

Plexi-Gloss lipgloss-approx. $19, launching soon
The second product I was gifted is the Plexi-Gloss lipgloss* in the shade 209 Fuschia Pink. I’m not a big fan of lip glosses, so I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this one, but after chatting about it and seeing just how amazingly pigmented they are I was sold on them! There’s an incredible 35 shades in the range available for VIBs and VIB Rouge’s from Sephora and although I don’t think we’ll be getting the full range, I do think we’ll still be getting the vast majority of it!
These glosses are non-sticky and deliver some serious pigment and shine to your lips. As well as the impressive colour range and pigmentation, these glosses come with a special applicator, which you can see in the above photo. It’s a superflex applicator which has a split-tip, allowing it to only pick up the exact right amount of product for your lips when you pull it out of the tube. The lip hugging shape also makes it super easy to apply, so it’s really hard to go wrong with these glosses and end up a sticky mess!
As you can see the colour really is amazing and the finish is amazingly shiny for such a long-wearing gloss. It’s worth mentioning that both the bronzer and gloss are waterproof, so if you’re heading off for a nice beachy holiday this summer, these would be perfect! Unfortunately, I’m not going anywhere exotic this year so I won’t have the chance to properly test how waterproof they are but I did apply a swatch of the Plexi-Gloss to my arm and tried to remove it just using water and it seriously would not budge!
