Haircare on trial

I’ve been sent/bought quite a few new haircare bits in the past month so instead of trying to write up individual reviews for each product, I thought it would be a much better idea to put them all together into one nice, big post!

I guess I should start this by describing my hair type, so you know what the products were being tested on.

I have very thick, curly hair that (if I don’t saturate it with oils) can be quite frizzy and dry. Therefore, the products that tend to work for me are ones that help to tame the frizz, really nourish my hair and aren’t too chemically-based (I find these really strip my hair).

Thick and Curly Tangle Teezer*

I’ve heard only good things about Tangle Teezer so when I spied that they do a brush specifically for thick and curly hair, I was really excited!

I don’t typically brush my hair when I wear it curly (I find most brushes just make my hair frizzy and destroy the curls) but this has been great for combing through knots when my hair is wet without damaging it.

It’s £11 and if you want to get your hands on one for yourself, you can here.

Dr Paw Paw 7 in 1 hair treatment styler

Wow, long name…but as soon as I was introduced to Dr Paw Paw’s latest product I just had to snap it up for  myself and give it a go.

If you’re a huge fan of the balm, as I am, then this hair cream is going to be your new favourite thing. It’s a similar formula to the balm and I find working 4-6 spritzes of this through the ends of my hair prevents them from frizzing and leaves my hair feeling super soft.

Even better, this also works as a heat protectant so I can cut down on the amount of products I use when blowdrying and straightening my hair – result!

If you want to test it out yourself, you can pick up a bottle for £12.99 here.

Scott Cornwall Protein Spray*

If, like me, you frequently colour your hair, you’ll know that it can take a serious battering when you do.

When I have a planned colour coming up, I like to use this protein spray as a mini treatment. Using it too often can lead to build-up (gross…) so it’s not something that’s part of my regular haircare routine, but it is helpful to have around for the occasional use!

Amazingly, this is just £5.99 and can be found here.

Noughty Detox Dynamo shampoo and Intensive Care leave-in conditioner*

Noughty is a (very) new haircare brand, but I have to say so far I’m impressed!

I ususally shy away from any detox shampoos, I worry they’ll really strip my hair and leave it dry, but this one is 97% natural and smells gorgeous. I use it a couple of times a week on my hair and it leaves it feeling really clean and fresh.

I’m also regularly using the leave-in conditioner and find a grape-sized amount is perfect for working through my hair post-shower. It really nourishes my hair and leaves it feeling a lot softer than when I don’t use it!

You can find all of the Noughty products here, starting at just £6.99
