So I’m betting lots of you are heading out on hot dates tonight, RIGHT?! Well, even if you’re single (like me) and planning to spend this evening on a solo Netflix binge, I hope you still enjoy reading about my beauty picks for a date night.
It’s rare that I’ll get dressed up for a proper night out, so when I do I like to make sure my makeup matches, and I tend to stick to the darker, more dramatic shades.
So without further ado, here are my beauty picks and advice for a date night out on the town…
I love sweeping bronzer across my cheekbones if I’m out for the night! I find the warm tones really help to add some colour and dimension to my face, and give a much more natural finish than a pink blush. I tend to go for a light bronze shade, as with my pale complexion I find these shades are a lot more subtle and flattering.
My recommendation: SENSAI cheek blush in CH04*, £32 here
I’m a sucker for a red lip, and can’t resist rocking one on a night out! There’s something so classic and sultry about red lipstick, and I find blue-toned ones look best on me. If I am going to wear a red, I always line my lips to lock the colour in, then apply the colour, blot and reapply. That way it lasts all night – perfect!
My recommendation: By Terry Rouge Expert Click Stick in No 18 Be Mine*, £24.50 here
Want to wear eyeshadow, but find your attempts at a smokey eye end up in one big smudgey mess? Yeah, me too, so I tend to stick to using one sparkly shadow across my whole lid and working it into my crease to give my eye socket the appearance of more depth. Finish off with a couple of coats of mascara and you’re good to go, easy peasy!
My recommendation: Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in 3, $5 here
I rarely paint my nails dark colours, but when I do I really love it! If I’m getting ready for a date, I’ll often make the effort to paint my nails, and if the date is in the evening I’ll reach for a much darker shade than usual.
My recommendation: PAUL & JOE nail polish*, £12 similar here
