Bobbi Brown autumn makeup edit

Holy moly do I have the mother of all makeup edits to share with you today! If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter (@AlbertineSarah for those of you who aren’t, go on, you know you want to…) you may have seen that I attended a Bobbi Brown makeup event last week where I was shown how to create the perfect smokey eye for autumn. I picked up so many makeup tips during the event, and when I was handed a goody bag packed with all of the products* used during the tutorial I just couldn’t WAIT to get home and give it a go myself. In fact, here’s a photo of the makeup look I created using the products:

I’ve broken this down into three categories – face, eyes and lips – so I can talk you through all of the products I was gifted and how we were advised to use them. As you can see above, all of these products are absolutely beautiful, and a lot of them are very versatile, so I’m sure I’ll find myself using them lots, even if I’m not creating this specific look!

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick in Sand

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Uber Beige

The Bobbi Brown Face

Skin Foundation Stick in Sand (£31 here) – This foundation stick is so versatile, and as it’s a stick, rather than liquid, it’s so much easier to carry around and take on holiday with you than other foundations! I was matched to the shade sand, which is spot on for my winter skin tone. This gives a very natural, skin-like finish which I really love because it gives the illusion of you not wearing any makeup at all. You can use it on targeted areas to even out your skin tone, or you can use it all over for a high coverage finish (which is what I went for in the makeup look above). I love how versatile this is and how easy it is to just pop in my bag for touch ups.

Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Uber Beige (£21 here) – This is also very versatile, and it’s perfect for lazy people like me who like to get the most out of their products. The pink beige colour means it gives a really subtle wash of colour on the cheeks, and also gives a very natural warm colour when used on the lips. I also love that you can just use your fingertips to dab this on, super easy to use on the go.

Shimmer Brick Compact in Beige (£35 here) – If you’re a big fan of glow and shimmer, then you just have to try one of the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks! I remember naughtily dipping my fingers into my mum’s when I was younger and smearing it onto my face. Beige is a combination of bronze and champagne shades, and swirled together they look gorgeous lightly dusted across your cheekbones, as I have done above.

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadow in Allspice

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink

The Bobbi Brown Eyes

Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Bark (£23 here) – If you’re looking for a super easy way to create a smokey eye, then this is the product for you! Swipe it across your lash line, then just blend it out for a super subtle smokey eye, easy peasy! This does take a bit of work to blend out, but it’s worth it because once it’s done it really does not budge, so no need to worry about creasing or smudging throughout the day.

Eyeshadow in Camel (£18 here) – This is the perfect transitional eyeshadow shade, and you can use it in your crease (as I did above) or along your bottom lash line to smoke out and diffuse any harsh lines. When you use it with the Cream Shadow Stick it creates a super easy, warm smokey eye that I think anyone could rock!

Sparkle Eye Shadow in Allspice (£25 here) – OMG this is just absolutely gorgeous. As you can see above, it’s packed full of sparkle which makes it perfect for any festive parties you have coming up over the next few months. You can dab this across the eyelid to take a smokey eye to the next level or just use it all over and blend out for an easy, one-step eyeshadow look.

Long-wear Eye Pencil in Jet (£19 here) – A black eyeliner has been part of my makeup bag since my early teens, and most recently I’ve used it on my water line an tight line to make my lashes look a lot thicker and fuller than they actually are, This one is truly jet black, and doesn’t transfer like cheaper pencils, which is perfect for people like me who blink and find themselves with a smudgey mess!

Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink (£19 here) – If, like me, you’re a winger liner gal then you really have to try the Bobbi Brown gel liner because it’s just amazing. Using a liner brush, you can get a super defined wing and it really does stay put all day.

Smokey Eye Mascara (£24.50 here) – I’m very picky with my mascaras, unless it gives me long, full lashes without clumping it’s going in the bin. This one is perfect for wiggling at the base of your lashes to create gorgeous defined lashes. I’m pretty sure I’m going to end up using this daily because I just love the effect it gives.

Bobbi Brown Lip Balm SPF 15

Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Colour in Ruby and Telluride

The Bobbi Brown Lips

Lip Balm SPF 15 (£16.50 here) – I’m a bit of a lip balm addict, I always have five or six on the go at one time, and I can’t wait to add this one to my ever expanding collection. This balm has a lovely velvety texture that feels amazing on my lips and as it has SPF 15, it’s perfect for slicking on before heading out for the day.

Crushed Lip Colour in Ruby and Telluride (£24 here) – These lipsticks can either be applied as a sheer wash of colour, or built up for something a lot more pigmented. Ruby is a dark, warm red that I’m sure I’ll get a lot of wear out of during the festive season while Telluride is a red mauve that, when applied sheerly, gives a beautiful warm wash of colour that perfectly compliments a smokey eye, as you can see above.
