Yardley have been a part of the Boots fragrance section for as long as I can remember, and if I’m honest I’ve never been tempted to try any of the body mists or perfumes they do because they are quite classic and old fashioned. That said, when I heard Yardley were launching a new collection of fragrances that are targeted towards a younger audience, I couldn’t wait to see what they had come up with!
Simply called The Collection, Yardley has a selection of five new Eau De Toilette and they’re inspired by a combination of jewels and florals. The five fragrances are as follows:
At the launch I was able to hear a bit more about each fragrance and took home a couple of them myself. Each fragrance has a really unique, distinctive scent and after giving them all a sniff I decided to take home Flora Jade and Lilac Amethyst as they appealed the most to me.
This is definitely my favourite of the whole collection. The scent is a combination of creamy vanilla and black pepper which I really love! The top notes are pear, lemon bergamot and basil. The heart notes are fig, peach, black pepper and heliotrope, complemented by a warm, woody and spicy amber base.
When I first smelt this fragrance, I was immediately reminded of a Gin and Tonic, which is one of my favourite drinks – especially for spring and summer! The top notes are each, bergamot and galbanum. The heart notes remind me of a floral bouquet – rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang and orris. Finally, the base notes are patchouli, sandalwood and moss.
So far, I am really loving these perfumes and I think they’re perfect for spring (I’m kind of hoping they bring out more options for autumn and winter)! I also really love the bottles, they’re classic and simple, and look really lovely within my perfume collection.
