Last year Missguided dipped their toes into the fragrance market with their original scent – Babe Power. Initially, I didn’t think it would be for me as it is a very sweet scent, but after wearing it for a day I really fell in love with it and it quickly became one of my favourites to wear during the weekends, when I tend to go for a lighter, more girly fragrance.
So, when an invite popped into my inbox for the launch party for three new Missguided Babe fragrances, I could not wait to attend and see what I thought of them! The launch party was really fun, and we were each given a couple of the new perfumes to take home and try.
After giving them a go, I have to say I am really pleased with the additions to the Babe fragrance collection, and I’m sure I’ll get a lot of wear out of these over the summer.
The three new fragrances are as follows – Babe Dreams, Babe Oud and Boss Babe. Babe Dreams is, like Babe Power, a light, fruity scent while Babe Oud and Boss Babe are heavier, and definitely more geared towards being evening scents.
I was given Babe Dreams and Boss Babe, so today I thought I would share with you my thoughts on both!
Firstly, I love the baby pink and silver colour combination of this, and the can design is really clever, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a perfume packaged like this before! On first sniff, this is VERY sweet, so it won’t be for everyone! It’s got a hint of tangy pineapple to it that immediately transports me to beachy holidays and sipping Pina Coladas at the bar, so it’s one I’ll be wearing when I’m feeling summery.
Once it settles, the initial sharp, sweet scent disappears and you’re left with a vanilla-floral scent that’s a lot more subtle. It’s definitely a lot sweeter than I tend to go for, but you know what? It’s weirdly growing on me and I have a feeling this might just become a favourite of mine, as Babe Power did.
This is one of the more ‘evening’ scents from the collection and I frigging LOVE it! If I was to liken it to anything, it would be Alien by Thierry Mugler. It has similar woody, amber notes and as soon as I smelt this, I knew I would absolutely love it. It’s not as heavy a scent as Babe Oud (which has striking similarities to Jo Malone’s Velvet Rose and Oud cologne) but it is heavier than Babe Dreams and Babe Power, so more suited to being worn in the evening.
I think it’s safe to say these new Missguided perfumes are bound to be a hit, so when they launch in June I would recommend snapping them up quickly!
