As I mentioned in my post about Instagram cliches I love, I’ve got a bit of a thing for the basket bag trend right now. For a couple of months I’ve been umming and ahhing over which one to treat myself to…and then I went to the Boots Beauty Festival and was gifted this Topshop beauty, it was love at first sight!
Yes, it might not be the most practical bag (and there’s not much you can fit in them) but the basket bag is my favourite accessory for summer because I think it’s super cute and girly! They work perfectly with a patterned jumpsuit or a tea dress and some espadrilles. It’s not a bag I wold use when I have a busy day, but when I’m just popping out to meet a friend for coffee, it’s the ideal accessory to take along with me.
Yes, when I’m wearing a dress like this I am TERRIFIED of spilling something on it (coffee, definitely coffee) but…I have to admit I don’t think you can beat a white Broderie Anglaise tea dress. The puffball sleeves and button details are really nice touches, and as I got this from the Tall section of ASOS it’s the perfect length and doesn’t leave me worrying about flashing my knickers at members of the public!
I decided to wear my trusty black tie-up espadrilles with this dress, and I think they go really well with the rest of the outfit. You may have noticed I’ve worn these shoes A LOT recently – they go with everything in my summer wardrobe and are really comfy so I wear them pretty much every day.
