If you know me (or you’ve ever seen me with a full face of makeup) you’ll know that when it comes to highlighting products I definitely think MORE is more! I prefer for my cheekbones so be able to be spotted from outer space, and as I love trying out new products and formulas, I’m always on the lookout for the perfect glow givers.
I used to only ever use powder form highlighters (I found some liquid or cream highlighters had used previously didn’t blend well and looked awful on top of my foundation!) but recently I’ve found a couple of cream and liquid formulas that I’m really loving, so I thought I would share my favourite multi-formula glow givers with you in this blog post!
Honestly, the Obsession Liquid Illuminator in Fierce is simply stunning. It’s a bronze base colour with lilac shimmer that just looks beautiful on my cheekbones and it blends into my foundation base like a dream and is still going strong by the end of the day. I really struggle with liquid formulas for cheek products, but this one has really impressed me and I’ve found myself reaching for it when I want a more dewy look.
Again, much like liquid formulas, I tend to struggle with cream ones as I just find they don’t sit nicely on top of my foundations (regardless of the foundation formula) but that isn’t the case with the INIKA Cream Illuminisor! I have the shades Rose and Gold, and I find Rose is the perfect cheek colour while Gold is a more multi-use highlighter that I can dab onto my cheekbones, cupid’s bow and nose. These are pricier than other products, but they are certified organic and vegan!
This is the formula I’m most comfortable with using and boy do they pack a punch when you do! These e.l.f. Baked Highlighters in Moonlight Pearls andBlush Gems are perfect for when you want your glow to be out-of-this-world and I’ve found myself using them when I’m going for a more dramatic makeup look. I like to apply these with a fan brush as it means I can start with a subtle highlight then work up to something more dramatic.
