The crop flared jean
Man, I really didn’t think I would see the day that I would be rocking this trend. When I think of a crop flared jean images of Groovy Chick and Lizzy McGuire immediately come to my mind. Yes, I might have thought they were pretty cool (and DEFINITELY style icons) when I was a tween, but now I know better! That said, after seeing everyone rock some form of a cropped jean this summer I found myself warming to the trend, and my favourite pairs were either a straight cut or (shock, horror) a flare.
So, when I was browsing the rails of a little boutique near my parent’s home over the weekend and I spied this pair of cropped flared jeans, I just couldn’t resist trying them on, and when I did I kind of fell in love and decided they just had to be a part of my ever expanding wardrobe.
Styling the crop flared jean
I’ll admit, when I first got them home I wasn’t sure how to style them with what was already in my wardrobe. I tend to wear high waisted jeans and skirts so a lot of my jumpers, t-shirts and blouses are cropped. That said, I had a little rummage (honestly, having a look through my wardrobe is a full on event, it’s so full!) and I found the perfect blouse to wear with these jeans.
It’s white, it has simple blue detailing and is nice and floaty so perfectly suited to the heat we are experiencing right now.
In terms of accessories, I went for my current favourite bag – the Ragley Hall Medium Barrel Lock Cross Body Bag from Radley. It’s such a perfect size for fitting all of my needs (sunglasses, wallet, keys, phone, makeup) and as it’s black it just goes with everything. I also opted for this pair of embroidered flats I actually picked up from Asda last year.
Finally, I finished the whole look off with a few pieces from Jewellerybox. I layered a couple of necklaces and popped in some pearl earrings.
I think this might actually be my favourite outfit right now, it’s comfy AND on trend, what more could you want?!
