I’m a sucker for novelty and limited edition things, so when I spotted the Trick or Treat boxes Glossybox were launching for October, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one for myself. Last week I was invited to a preview of their advent calendar and during the event they were kind enough to gift me their Trick box.
I couldn’t wait to get stuck into it, and over the past week I’ve been testing out the products so I could share my thoughts with you on them today.
A mask, moisturiser and primer in one? I think this will be perfect for prepping my skin on Sundays when it needs a little TLC. It’s not something I’ll be using daily but I’ll save it to use as a special skin treat.
This is such a clever idea, and I love that the contouring powder and highlighter are in pans sat on top of each other. The contour is fairly dark for my skin tone, so it’s one I’ll only really be using for more dramatic evening makeup looks. I’m not a fan of the highlighter, for how dramatic the contour is it’s a bit weak and I couldn’t really see it on my cheekbones so I ended up using a different one instead.
I have to say, I was a bit disappointed by this powder. It’s tricky to get the right amount out and when I applied it on top of my makeup it’s wasn’t really translucent and took a fair bit of work to buff in. I have a L’Oreal powder that works a lot better so I’m probably not going to keep this.
I tend to just wear nude or red lipsticks, so when I discovered this vibrant purple matte lipstick in the box I was intrigued. It is a bit tricky to apply, I would recommend lining your lips first, but once it’s on it is striking and it’s the perfect hue for a witchy Halloween look.
This palette contains a great selection of nude shades, so it’s perfect for creating subtle looks and more dramatic ones. It also includes a true black and a close to white shade that are great basics to have for any makeup look. I think this could be really useful for creating skull makeup!
