I’m back with another summary of the makeup I’ve been wearing this month (if you want to know what I wore in October, you can read all about it in this blog post).
I’ve tried a fair few new products this month that I’ve really enjoyed, and so in this post I’ve mixed them in with others that I’ve been loving for a while. I hope you enjoy reading about my beauty picks for this month, let me know what you think of them!
The base products
For my base, I’ve gone back to using a favourite primer of mine and tried a couple of new products from Essence.
The primer I’ve been using is the Erborian Bamboo Glow Moisturiser. Although it is supposed to be a moisturiser, I find the silky formula is better suited to being used as a primer and I love the way it makes my skin feel before applying makeup on top! It’s pricey at £21 so probably not something I would re-purchase myself.
For my November makeup look, I’ve also gone back to a more glowy base (rather than the matte one I tend to prefer at this time of year!) The Essence #InstaPerfect foundation has a very limited shade range (there’s only six), but as it’s only £4.50 I can kind of understand why. I love how lightweight the formula is and it gives me a really lovely, healthy glow and even complexion.
Finally, for my under eyes I have been using the Essence Light Ivory Camouflage concealer. It’s just £2.80 and is perfect for applying under my eyes to counteract the dark circles.
The honey glow
There’s no denying that a golden highlighter can really warm up a makeup look, and I’ve personally been enjoying dusting this one across my cheekbones and cupid’s bow! The Obsession Mega Honey highlighter is a total steal at £3 and is super pigmented.
I’ve been enjoying more vibrant, colourful eyeshadows recently, but for my November makeup edit I wanted to include a trio of shades that I unexpectedly fell in love with. The Jane Iredale Snap Happy Makeup Kit is pricey at £50, but it includes an eyeshadow trio, blusher and finishing powder. The eyeshadow trio includes a warm brown, shimmery peach and copper eggplant shade. Wearing these together creates the perfect smokey eye that can be built up into something dramatic or kept light and subtle. I’ve not yet used the blusher or setting powder yet, but they’re useful to have in the kit for applying on the go!
My eyeliner pick is nothing new, it’s the Revolution Pro Supreme Pigment Dip Eyeliner. It’s just £3 and it’s so easy to use I don’t know how I would like without it. I wear liner with basically every makeup look, so this is an essential to me that I just had to mention.
Finally we have my November makeup mascara pick – The Mascara Revolution. This is a fatter wand than I would usually go for, but it’s 100% worth it for the voluminous lashes it gives me.
The eyebrow duo
A couple of new brow products I’ve been loving from Mary Kay – their Precision Brow Liner in Dark Brunette and their Eyebrow/Eyeliner brush. The liner is perfect for gently filling in the brows, and brushing them out with the spoolie helps to give a natural, subtle finish.
The subtle berry lip
Naturally, as the weather gets frostier I find myself wearing darker, richer lip shades. A new addition to my collection is the Fresh Sugar Berry Tinted Lip Treatment. This balm gives a sheer wash of warm berry colour that I love, and it makes my lips feel amazing and soft when I use it.
