A December makeup update

The December makeup update

We’re into December…HOW?! I keep forgetting to open my beauty advent calendars because I can’t quite believe we’re in December. Anyways, today I thought I would share the products I’ve been using on my face recently. Some of them are new additions, and a couple are old favourites that are back in rotation. Enjoy!

Revolution Conceal and Define foundation

The high coverage, easy blending foundation

I bought myself a tube of the Revolution concealer a fair few months ago and, as the shade wasn’t right, I didn’t repurchase. But…recently they launched a supersized concealer AND a foundation, so when I spied my correct shade on the Superdrug website I took the plunge and bought it for myself.

It’s affordable at £9 (although not as budget as some fo their other products) and 100% worth the price tag because damn it covers everything and is super easy to blend and work with!

I’m going to get myself the concealer too so I can forever have a flawless base.

MAC Hyper Real Glow

The highlighting trio

I love testing new highlighters, and after a massive makeup clear out I re-discovered this palette from MAC that I treated myself to in World Duty Free way back in August. It’s quickly become the only palette I use.

The three shades are perfect for those of us who like a rose gold glow, and they’re really buildable. One swipe is subtle, two is super glowy and three is BLINDING.

I use all three shades, and every time I do my makeup I whip this bad boy out and go to town. It’s pricey at £35 but worth it because you’ll get so much use out of it before you hit pan.

MAC Hyper Real Glow was purchased using vouchers provided by World Duty Free

colourpop I Think I Love You palette

I Think I Love You palette

I haven’t done a Colourpop order in a LOOONG while, but when I heard they’ve got rid of customs charges for UK customers, I was right back on the hype. This palette was a must have for me, and I’ve not been disappointed by it!

I Think I Love You includes gorgeous bronze, gold, yellow, taupe and champagne shades. I’ve used it quite a few times since it arrived and the shadows are so pigmented and easy to blend I’ve been really impressed.

It cost me around £12.50 (such amazing value!) and I’ll definitely be buying many more in the future.

MAC Prep and Prime lip

Prep + Prime for lips

Again, this was a World Duty Free purchase before I hopped on a plane to visit family in Germany, and I have to admit it wasn’t getting much use. BUT, it’s another product that re-surfaced in my makeup clear out and I’m so glad it did!

This is a matte balm that works as a great primer for lips before applying lip products. I find products apply much nicer when I’ve used it, and when I go for a matte finish this prevents my lips from feeling super dried out. It’s £14 so not a bank breaker but definitely a bit pricey for a lip balm (worth it as far as I’m concerned)!

Revolution Pro Vampy lip
Revolution Pro Supreme Lip Pigment Ultimatum

The glossy dark lip

I love a darker lip for December, especially as I feel it means you can be a bit more lax with the rest of your makeup (cheeky bit of highlight, liner and lashings of mascara and you’re done!)

I’ve been a fan of Revolution lip products for a good while now, and when I saw the new Supreme Gloss Lip Pigments, they just HAD to be mine. This one is called Ultimatum and it’s a deep purple that looks amazing and glossy on.

They’re £4 each (I got mine for £2 each during the Black Friday sales) and totally worth it because they’re such high quality and gorgeous on.
