Well, well, well…It’s fairly late on Saturday evening and I’m just sitting down to write this. I think it’s fair to say that the last couple of weeks have been a total whirlwind for me. Working on the Blogosphere awards has been absolutely incredible this year, from organising a giant ball pit to calculating the winners of each category it’s been non-stop and now that it’s over I would be lying if I didn’t say I felt a little bit low.
I guess it’s to be expected – after the excitement of the event and the adrenaline rush on the day, I’m not surprised that my mood has had a little dip this weekend. So to counteract it I’ve been spending my time sleeping, eating fast food and watching films. I’m hoping that means by Tuesday I’ll be back to my normal self, and ready to jump back into working on the magazine and my own creative content!
Anyway, enough about me (and my ever varying mood…) let’s talk about the #BlogosphereAwards2019! If you want a glimpse of what went down on the evening, I suggest checking out the hashtag on Instagram and Twitter. You can also check out the highlight on the Blogosphere Instagram page to see the evening from our perspective!
We started the evening with a reception upstairs (complete with canapés, Prosecco and an impressive Slingsby gin bar. On one side of the gallery we had a DJ, flower wall with photobooth and images of the shortlisted influencers and brands for the awards. On the other side was where the fun really began…we had a fashion ilustrator drawing everyone’s outfits, Mr Doodle filling one archway with intricate doodles, a ball pit (with the names of nominees on some of the balls!) and a glitter cube glam cam where people could get amazing slow mo videos of their outfits.
I’m really pleased with how the experiential side of the event came together, and it was loads of fun to work on!
After the reception, we made our way downstairs for dinner. As we were finishing dinner a surprise dance performance took place (you’ve probably seen this on people’s insta stories) and then it was time for the awards to start! What followed next was a lot of rushing back and forth ferrying winners to have their interviews done while also announcing the winners on Twitter. By the time the last award was handed out, I was thoroughly knackered and VERY much appreciated the gin and tonic I got myself at the Slingsby bar during the after-party upstairs.
Overall, an amazing evening and I now can’t wait for the next one!
Ok, now it’s time to talk about what I wore for the Blogosphere awards, of course, I had to go for something a little bit dramatic!
The dress is from House of CB – my first order from them and I am thoroughly impressed because this dress is just gorgeous! It fits me like a glove, and although there’s a lot of boob on show I was safely contained in my dress and there were NO nip slips during the night 😂
The necklace is a star choker from Nasty Gal, I can’t seem to find it on the website anymore so sorry about that! I think it works perfectly with this dress and it was the only piece of jewellery I needed to really finish my outfit.
The heels are a pair I picked up in New Look for just £3…yes, you read that right – bargain of the century!
If you would like a run down of my makeup look, please do let me know and I’ll get that up for you guys too.
