I’m sure at one point you will have seen a Shay & Blue fragrance bottle on your Instagram feed. There’s no denying that the blue bottles, with gold detailing, are VERY aesthetically pleasing so when they asked if I would like to try out one of their fragrances for myself I couldn’t say no!
I’ve actually tried out a sample of one of their fragrances before, and I’m gutted I can’t remember what it was called because it was the most gorgeous scent. This time it was quite tricky to pick just one fragrance, but I knew I wanted to go for something that would work well for autumn (and that I can easily wear day to night). Shay & Blue have six categories of fragrances – Citrus, Fruit, Light Florals, Florals, Spices and Woods. With autumn in my mind, I was drawn to the Florals, Spices and Woods categories and got to work picking out a new scent for myself.
If there was one fragrance I was immediately drawn to, it was Atropa Belladonna. The floral fragrance is inspired by deadly nightshade and is a richly decadent scent of dark cassis berries are blended with the heady, white flower blooms of narcissus and jasmine on a base of sandalwood and patchouli.
Here’s what Shay & Blue say about the fragrance:
“Atropa Belladonna is an award-winning modern fragrance that is now a cult classic amongst London’s fashion community. Handcrafted in England with real flowers, fruits and spices. This perfume contains over three pounds of jasmine and white narcissus. Atropa Belladonna was created in 2012 by Julie Massé, Perfumer, and Dom De Vetta, Founder.”
I’ve been wearing this fragrance for the past couple of weeks now, and it’s such a lovely scent it will definitely be a staple for autumn. I like that it’s not too overpowering, but also isn’t a powdery floral. It sits really nicely on my skin and is perfect for transitioning from day to night.
