I have to say, autumn is by FAR my favourite season – the cooler evenings, seasonal hot beverages and cosier outfits really appeal to me so by the time we get to August I am just itching for autumn to begin so I can dive into my vast jumper collection and prepare myself for many nights in.
One of my favourite aspects of autumn is the change in style trends. I tend to find autumn far easier (and more enjoyable) to dress for because my larger bust and bum can make dressing for summer tricky (mini dresses are often far too revealing and I constantly feel too hot, or like I’m showing too much skin).
So today I thought I would round up for you some autumn style trends I can’t wait to wear myself, keep an eye on my Instagram to see how I wear these trends over the next few months!
I’ve owned my fair share of sweater dresses in the past, and I can’t wait to add a couple more to my wardrobe this autumn! I tend to go for an oversized fit and a neutral colour palette. I love a roll neck, they just look far more chic and cosy to me, especially when they’re paired with some black knee-high boots or chunky trainers.
Man, I am ITCHING to get into this particular trend! I love an ankle boot, and in previous years I’ve favoured a rounder toe and suede finish or a dramatic pointed toe in black snakeskin. This year I’m lusting after a pair of Western style ankle boots – either in a shiny black finish or a deep oxblood.
During spring and summer I tend to lean towards brighter pops of colour, but as we get closer to the end of the year my colour palette leans heavily into neutrals and I find myself wearing a lot of tan, copper, cream, beige, burnt orange and brown. I just find these tones all work really well together and look really luxurious and cosy when layered up. They also work great paired when a snakeskin print, like the shoes I’m wearing above!
I’ve been wearing this trend a lot during the summer, and it’s one I plan to carry through to autumn. I especially love this trend when it comes to organza material, because I think it just looks so stylish! I’ll be sticking to my neutral colour palette with this one, and mainly wearing it with blouses, that I will pair with skinny jeans and heels.
As much as I love a good jacket, I feel that long coats are the chichest way to wrap up warm during the autumn. I have a black one in my wardrobe which is really versatile, and I like to wear them with a white t-shirt, skinny jeans and heels or with a floaty maxi dress and chunky trainers.
