Essence makeup – A/W launches

I’ve previously written about Essence Makeup launches on my blog (I really love their mascaras, they’re actually a lot better than some of the high end ones I’ve tried!) so when they offered to send me their latest launches for A/W I could not wait to get my hands on them and try them for myself.

They’ve got lots of exciting new bits launching, so after testing them out for myself over the past couple of weeks I can’t wait to share with you what I’m loving (and what I would give a miss) from the new collections.

Essence makeup Epic Sunset palette

The Epic Sunset palette

Isn’t this Epic Sunset palette just the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?! I love the bright colours in it, but also that they’re mixed with more wearable neutrals. I loved watching Euphoria this summer, so can’t wait to create some inspired makeup looks using this palette. I also love that they’ve included larger transition shade pans, really useful for creating makeup looks and using the bolder colours more sparingly. This palette is just £9.99 which is a total steal if you ask me.

Crystal Power highlighter and eyeshadow palettes

Crystal Power eyeshadow and highlighter palettes

Again, I just love how bold these palettes are! I used the Crystal Power eyeshadow one for the makeup look featured above – I mixed the shades Make It Happen and Never Give Up for a gorgeous copper look. These shades blend beautifully and are just gorgeous on, so I know I’ll get good use out of this palette. The palette is just £5.99 which is a TOTAL steal.

I also used the shade Glowing Energy from the highlighter and blush palette on my cheekbones and I love the subtle glow it gave me. Again, this palette is £5.99 and a total bargain because the colour payoff is amazing and the shades are gorgeous. I wouldn’t use the pink or darker shade myself but they would look amazing on darker skin tones.

Essence Makeup single blush and highlighters

The blush and the highlighter

I love when brands do singles of blushes and highlighters, I often find one shade I love and stick to using it (unlike eyeshadows, where I like to use multiple for one look or switch it up regularly) so it’s great that Essence Makeup also offer these!

I love the champagne shade of the highlighter, but would give the blusher a miss as the shade is just a bit too dark for me (and I don’t tend to wear blusher). I prefer a more glowy finish, so the only blusher I currently use is a shimmer.

Essence What The Fake mascara

What The Fake! mascara

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I absolutely LOVE Essence mascaras, and this one is no different. Two coats of What The Fake! mascara makes my lashes look amazing – volumised and lengthened without going clumpy. I’ll be using this a lot, and absolutely recommend you try it for yourself. The brush is also the perfect shape and size and you really feel like you get every lash when you use it. This mascara is just £3.49 so a total bargain.

Essence Hydrating primer

Hydrating + Perfecting primer

I’m very picky when it comes to primers – I like them to leave my skin feeling slightly tacky so I know they will lock my makeup in place. This one is a dream to use and left my skin feeling super smooth and slightly tacky. It comes with a pipette so you can really control how much you use and a little goes a long way. The Hydrating + Perfecting primer is £3.79, so again a total steal and worth picking up!

Crystal Power lipstick and Perfect Shine lipstick

Crystal Power lipstick and Perfect Shine lipstick

The Crystal Power lipstick reacts to the pH of your lips, so gives a very natural tint of colour which is perfect for minimal makeup days. I love the glitter flecks in it and it’s just £2.99 so really affordable!

I was gifted the Perfect Shine lipstick in the shade Perfect Day and it’s the colour I’m wearing in the photo at the start of this blog post. I love that it’s such a natural pink, and it’s super easy to wear. It’s really comfortable on the lips and is definitely one I will be using frequently as I tend to go for natural, simple makeup looks. Again, it’s just £2.99 so a bargain.

Essence Contouring duo

Contouring duo palette

I do love a contouring palette, although I find I use the darker shade a lot and never used the lighter shade because i have highlighters I already love to use! This Contouring duo palette is perfect for those of us with light-medium skin tones and it’s really easy to blend. It’s just £3.49.
