Two shirt dresses

Ahh the humble shirt dress. There’s no denying that it’s a wardrobe staple, but up until recently I was yet to own one myself…I’ve been adding more basics and neutrals to my wardrobe recently, so it’s no surprise that part of that update is a couple of shirt dresses that can easily take you from day to night! I’ve got two options depending on my mood – a smarter long sleeved drop hem number from ASOS and a pouffy sleeve shorter one from Zara for when I’m feeling more adventurous.

The ASOS number

This is the smarter of the two shirt dresses I own, and personally I think this is great for work. You can layer jumpers over the top of it and wear it with tights and boots for autumn/winter and then when spring/summer come round it’s easy to style with ankle boots or heels! I love the high neck of it and long sleeves, and the drop hem is is also really flattering. I’m pretty sure this was just £16 in the ASOS sale (affiliate link), so a total bargain.

The Zara number

I actually ended up wearing these shirt dresses with the same boots – they really go with everything and just look great with shirt dresses! This one is shorter than the other one, so I would just save this for evening events (I’ve styled it with nude heels before) or wear it over the top of jeans for a more casual look. It’s such a flattering fit, and I love the pouffy sleeves on it as well. This was also super affordable from Zara, at just £19.99 so if you can visit soon I would recommend looking out for it!

I’m sure I will be adding more shirt dresses to my wardrobe as time goes on, these two are super versatile so I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of them on my Instagram in the coming months as well.
