Skin thirst quenchers

Winter always takes a toll on my skin, so during the colder months I really like to amp up my skincare routine to ensure I don’t look too run down or dull. Within my (probably far too big) skincare collection these are the five products that help to keep my skin hydrated and plump. These thirst quenchers are absolutely adored by my skin, and when I use them regularly I feel they really help to protect my skin from the negative impacts of winter weather.

Alpha H balancing cleanser and Dior hydrating sorbet water

Cleanse and tone

My skincare routine always begins with a great cleanser, and my all time favourite is the Alpha H Balancing Cleanser (£35 for 200ml). I’ve been using the original version of this for a good year now, and recently added the limited edition Damask Rose version to my collection. Not only does it smell divine, but it really helps to keep my skin hydrated and clear. I really notice a difference when I don’t use it, so it’s an essential to my hydrating skincare routine.

I don’t always use a toner or water after cleansing, but when I feel my skin is crying out for some TLC I love using the Dior Hydra Life Balancing Hydration – 2-in-1 Sorbet Water (£28.50 for 175ml). The toning lotion is infused with a prebiotic that helps to hydrate and re-balance the skin’s moisture levels. It’s so easy to swipe across my skin after cleansing, I love using it in the evening before applying a rich moisturiser and heading to bed.

Pixi Rose Ceramide Cream and L'Occitane mineral moisture mask

Moisturise and mask

When the weather’s harsher I like to use a richer cream on my skin after hydrating and toning to really lock in moisture and make sure I wake up with plump, hydrated skin. The Pixi Rose Ceramide Cream (£24 for 50ml) is a new addition to my skincare collection, but I’ve been using it pretty much every evening since it arrived with me. It’s a rich cream that sinks into your skin beautifully (so you’re not left feeling sticky before bed) and really helps to lock moisture into the skin.

If I wan’t to go all out with the hydration, instead of a rich cream I’ll go for a hydrating mask and the L’Occitane Mineral Moisture Mask (£32 for 75ml) is my absolute favourite right now. The blue gel does feel a bit tacky on your skin after being applied, but it’s 100% worth it because it really does work overnight to hydrate your skin.

Alpha H Liquid Gold Rose Perfect and Plump balm

Perfect and plump

I actually can’t go without applying lip balm at least twice a day, and this little pot of goodness is a welcome addition to my balm collection. Not only is the packaging absolutely gorgeous, but the balm is really hydrating. The formula isn’t too thick, so you don’t feel like your lips are smothered in product. The Alpha H Liquid Gold Rose Perfect and Plump (£35 for 15ml) is currently part of a great deal on QVC where you can get the Damask Rose balancing cleanser, Perfect and Plump and Liquid Gold Rose for just £70 (SUCH a steal!).
