Makeup Obsession Day Dreamer eyeshadow palette review

Day Dreamer eyeshadow palette

I really do think Makeup Obsession do some of the best affordable makeup out there. Not only are their products affordable, but they really great quality and allow you to be creative with your makeup looks without breaking the bank. The Day Dreamer eyeshadow palette is one of their newest launches and it’s definitely one of their best. The £10 palette includes 16 gorgeous shades in a mix of soft pinks, lilacs and nudes.

The palette shade mix

When I first saw this palette across social media, I have to admit I didn’t think it was for me. The shades looked way too pastel for my typical neutral style, so I wasn’t that excited to try it out. That said…when it did arrive with me and I opened it up I was instantly obsessed. What I didn’t pick up on in the social media photos were the seven neutral shades that allow you to easily mix and play with the pastels and shimmers that are included alongside them.

One of the things I love most about the palette is the selection of ‘chameleon’ shades that instantly transform a makeup look when you apply them on top of your neutral shadow. Crush is my personal favourite, it’s a lilac shimmer that is just gorgeous on top of taupe shades. Lust is also a really interesting shade. It looks like a standard taupe, but when you swatch it you get a sheer taupe shimmer that’s really lovely to work with and blend.

Using this eyeshadow palette

I’ve used this palette a few times now, and for the above look I used a few of the shades. I started with Smitten across my eyelid, then applied Devotion on top for a pop of shimmer. After blending that all out I used a combination of Romance and Crush in the inner corner for a subtle pop of pastel colour.

I’ve also done looks using Lust across my eyelid, before blending it out and then applying Crush over the top of a lilac shimmer. I then used Admire in the inner corner for a pop of pink.

Personally, I find this palette really easy to work with and I reach for it a lot to create makeup looks. It’s great for doing something more dramatic for an evening look or subtle neutral looks for the day. I’m really impressed with how unique and exciting these shades are, and it’s definitely a palette I’m gonna get loads of use out of.
